Gravitate Design Studio Launches We Are Ellis Island for Phillips Van Heusen
Interactive website to raise awareness to save Ellis Island
NEW YORK, NY – August 17, 2007 – Gravitate Design Studio today launched the new website for WeAreEllisIsland.com, a campaign sponsored by the Phillips Van Heusen Arrow brand. The website allows for user-driven content for sharing stories of inspiration and hope in an effort to raise awareness and funds to preserve this national landmark. Further, the site offers celebrity testimonials and stories including Christian Slater, Katharine McPhee, Elliot Gould, and Joe Montana, among others.
"It’s important to have a greater understanding of who we are and where we come from. Ellis Island represents not just a destination, but people's journeys and their stories of survival, perseverance and, ultimately, success. We need to keep these buildings alive to keep these stories alive," stated football legend and Hall of Fame quarterback, Joe Montana, adding, “I’m proud to support ARROW’s campaign to Save Ellis Island and am honored to share and preserve my family’s legacy on the website, WeAreEllisIsland.org.”
The website was designed with high levels of interactivity in mind - from allowing users to upload photos and stories, to offering a multitude of video webisodes. As one component of a larger campaign, which will include print and outdoor advertising, the website is the nucleus for interested users to learn and to contribute to saving Ellis Island for future generations.
